The BEST Route to Complete The Blood of Dawnwalker 100%

Here’s what to do each day to complete every mission in The Blood of Dawnwalker, avoid running out of time, and reach the end without missing anything.

Once you've finished the Prologue of The Blood of Dawnwalker's story, you'll have the freedom to explore the world map and do whatever you want. There won't be an active main quest to follow. Instead, you'll need to prepare to take on Brencis's Court and try to do so within 30 days if you want to save your family, provided you make the right choices. In this section of our guide, we'll give you a series of guidelines explaining what you should do each day after finishing the Prologue so you can experience everything the game has to offer in a single playthrough.

You can use this section as a roadmap to complete the game 100%:

Day 1

Once you've finished Smoke and Ashes, you'll have 29 full days and 7 nighttime segments remaining before you reach the 30-day deadline. We recommend doing the following:

  • Remember to make a manual save at the beginning of every day. That way, if things go badly wrong, you'll have a backup you can return to.
  • Follow our recommendations for the best skills when upgrading Coen, but make sure you leave 1 nighttime segment unused so that morning doesn't arrive yet.
  • Make a quicksave before every enemy encounter. If you notice that the activity consumes a time segment, reload and avoid it for now.
  • Make a quicksave whenever you encounter NPCs along the road. There are some NPCs you can feed on without serious consequences, and doing so has its advantages.
  • Feed on wild animals whenever possible and loot their bodies for materials and Blood Vials.
  • Activate every Scouting Tower and Shrine you come across, but ignore ruined Shrines. Repairing them costs time and isn't worth it for this route.
  • Make a manual save, lower the difficulty to the minimum and follow the steps in Home Sweet Home to see the Together Forever ending. Reload your save afterwards and follow the steps required to see the A Hero They Deserve ending.
  • Reload your manual save, where you should still have 1 nighttime segment remaining, and complete Seeing Red.

Day 2

  • You should begin the day with 14 available segments if you've followed this guide.
  • Head to Svartrau City, sell anything you don't need and buy Manuals. Don't spend money on weapons or armour; you're better off making do with what you find.
  • We won't repeat this instruction every day: you should do this at the beginning of each day, along with making a manual save.
  • Complete Uninvited and Trouble Brewing.
  • Complete Bloody Business (night will fall when you finish it) and Roadside Surprise.
  • You should have 4 nighttime segments remaining.
  • Complete Judge and Executioner and Evil and Convenience (morning will arrive just before you finish it).

Day 3

  • You should see a cutscene at the start of the day: a new edict has been issued, causing more patrols to appear in settlements now that you've reached Infamy Level I.
  • You should begin the day with 14 available segments if you've followed the guide.
  • Complete Twists and Turns.
  • Complete Bounty of the Mire.
  • Night falls.
  • Complete Wetland Helpers and Unsavoury Solutions.
  • Complete Lucky Crossing.

Day 4

  • You may be wondering why we haven't told you to upgrade any more skills yet: don't do it. This will make sense later.
  • Complete Fate's Mercy.
  • Go and speak to Danylo at the Svartrau smithy and he'll give you a piece of armour. This doesn't consume any time.
  • Ignore the Prisoner Processing Camp. It leads into a longer series of objectives with a specific requirement that you won't be able to meet yet.
  • You should have 4 daytime segments remaining before nightfall.
  • Start The Gilded Gauntlet, but accept the invitation so you can complete The Bittersweet Toast first. When the time comes, make sure you tell Iulian "I'll come back at dawn."
  • If you've followed the guide, you should have 6 nighttime segments remaining.
  • This is the perfect time to upgrade 7 skills, despite only having 6 segments left. We recommend the following: Hastened Corruption, Endless Hunger, Voracious Bite and Death from Above from Vampirism; Vigour from Swordmastery; and finally Bewitching Influence from Witchcraft.
  • You should still have 14 unspent Skill Points if you've completed the same missions as we have. It's important to save 9 of them for later.

Day 5

  • You should see a cutscene after reaching Infamy Level II. From this point onwards, military checkpoints will appear along the roads.
  • Finish The Bittersweet Toast and make sure you collect the lizard moult from the cave.
  • If you've followed our instructions, you should have 5 daytime segments remaining before nightfall and your duel with Ambrus, so we'll use them for other things.
  • Complete Matter of Honour and Silent to the Grave.
  • Night falls.
  • Now finish your duel with Ambrus.
  • Make sure you drink his blood to unlock Scarlet Shield, then "invite him in" and search Ambrus's remains to obtain his armour.
  • You need to use up the rest of the night so the poison wears off. Use a nearby Shrine to upgrade the following skills: Scarlet Shield (remember to equip it from the abilities menu), Closing Wounds and Blood Theft from Vampirism. Spend the remaining nighttime segments however you like, but don't consume any daytime segments.

Day 6

  • You'll see a cutscene announcing another edict now that you've reached Infamy Level III. From this point onwards, prices across Vale Sangora increase.
  • The poison you've contracted won't damage you during the day.
  • We'll need as much money as possible relatively soon, so remember to keep selling unwanted items every day.
  • Complete Smoke Them Out.
  • Complete Curious Shipment and Fools's Gold.
  • Night falls and the poison will no longer be affecting you.
  • Complete Ends and Means, Coercion and Duress and Offshoot.
  • While doing this, you should automatically meet Farkas. Ask who he is and who he serves, then agree to hear his proposition.

Day 7

  • You'll have reached Infamy Level IV and another cutscene will play. From now on, there will be more soldiers and some will recognise you immediately.
  • Get the Manuals required for Second Skin I and II.
  • Someone should approach you in Svartrau to deliver a letter about a suit of armour. If this doesn't happen, wander around the city until it does; we'll complete this quest shortly.
  • Then spend 6 Skill Points to unlock them — you should already have invested at least 1 point in Vigour if you've followed the guide.
  • Night falls.
  • Complete Out of Love (ignore A Study in Crimson), Familiar Face and Old Hand.

Day 8

  • You'll have reached Infamy Level V, and the new edict means there will be fewer people on the streets at night.
  • Complete Good Home, Pearly and Precious, and buy the Bundle of Silk Threads.
  • Now upgrade your skills however you see fit until night falls.
  • Night falls. You should have all your nighttime segments available.
  • Complete A Study in Crimson and buy The Relic of St. Dasius.
  • Complete Home Sweet Home by following the route that completes the quest normally.

Day 9

  • The day will already be fairly advanced when it begins: it'll be nighttime with 1 segment already consumed.
  • Pick up the Flask of Quicksilver at the top of the tower in The Silts.
  • Finally, if you don't already have one, find a Moult of a Large Lizard.
  • You can now craft the Armour of the Arbiter, the best armour in the game. Make sure you upgrade it to Legendary quality before leaving.
  • Complete Unquenchable Thirst.

Day 10

  • You should begin the day with 1 segment already consumed.
  • Make sure you search the Unquenchable Thirst camp thoroughly. Inside one of the tents you'll find a note and a container holding a Sword Shard that starts Forge It Anew. We'll be tackling that quest shortly.
  • Don't forget to free the prisoner tied to the tree.
  • Head to Svartrau City and find the Fishmonger. On the map, she's the food merchant west of the northern Armourer. If you have a Dried Fish, sell it to her — you can even buy one from her and sell it straight back — to unlock an achievement/trophy. Don't ask why. Just do it.
  • Complete Do Not Disturb.
  • Now consume exactly 1 daytime segment. You can complete a minor activity or unlock a skill.
  • Make a manual save and then lower the difficulty to the minimum.
  • Complete The Lunar Game while allowing Bakir to discover your identity, then kill him to unlock an achievement/trophy.
  • Reload the save you made a moment ago, which should still be on Duelist.
  • Complete The Lunar Game without killing Bakir during the tournament.
  • As soon as the sequence with Farkas ends, kill Bakir and make sure you drink his blood. As with Ambrus, "invite him in".
  • Remember to loot the courtyard and Bakir's remains to obtain, among other things, Bakir's Treasury Key. The key opens the locked door in this courtyard, allowing you to loot the treasury.
  • Among the items inside is the Ring with a Purple Eye that Farkas was looking for, which starts another side quest for later.
  • Complete Hostile Takeover.
  • Complete Night Terrors and A Monk and a Saint (morning will arrive just as you're about to finish it).

Day 11

  • Another edict will be issued after reaching Infamy Level VI: there are now more guards and prices increase even further.
  • Finish A Monk and a Saint.
  • Return to the uriashi blacksmith to forge and upgrade the Sword of St. Mihai, which should remain your main weapon for the rest of the game.
  • Before continuing, you'll need 39 Skill Points in the relatively near future. In our case, we had 25 at this exact point. We'll leave plenty of time before explaining why you need 39, giving you room to reach that amount.
  • Find the Silver Trader and sell him at least 1,000 Denarii worth of silver. If you don't have enough silver yet, remember to return later.
  • From now on, visit a blacksmith every 4-5 levels to upgrade your sword and armour. This means you shouldn't ever need to replace them.
  • Complete Taste of Power and Just a Bit More.
  • Night falls.
  • Complete Come Home.
  • Complete Unsealed Secrets.

Day 12

  • You've reached Infamy Level VII, and the new edict means there will be bounty hunters on the roads and every soldier will recognise you. Expect considerably more fighting.
  • Complete Malevolent Presence and Bloodied Dagger.
  • Complete Fair Maiden.
  • Night falls.
  • Complete Chosen One.
  • Complete Past Glory — make sure you keep the Ring of the Night — and When Two Dogs...

Day 13

  • There's another new edict after reaching Infamy Level VIII: all soldiers will now be stronger.
  • Since we're well ahead of the 30-day deadline, we're going to spend some time on activities that ensure you're as powerful as possible before the final stretch.
  • Clear the Bandit Camp in southwestern Rockfalls to unlock Constantin.
  • Complete The Heart Wants What It Wants by following our instructions to finish it in the minimum possible time.
  • Complete any activity that costs exactly 1 time segment — but don't do a side quest or unlock a skill. Clear a Soldier Camp or Bandit Camp instead.
  • Night falls.
  • Complete A Friend Like This and Song of the Mountain.
  • Get the Arbiter's Medallion and the Ring of Focus. You should already have the Ring of the Night. Equip all three alongside your Legendary sword and armour to unlock another achievement/trophy.
  • Complete Kobold's Nest #1 (Laslea Glen).

Day 14

Day 15

  • Make a manual save and don't overwrite it. This is going to be a relatively long day involving several actions that we'll repeat by reloading this save.
  • Spend a total of 35 Skill Points in each skill tree and then unlock one of its ultimate skills. Each time you do so, you'll unlock an achievement/trophy. Reload your save after each one and repeat the process with another skill tree.
  • Reload your save again afterwards and activate Mercurial Fervour (Witchcraft) and Shapeshift (Vampirism). Together with Scarlet Shield, you'll have three abilities equipped at the same time and unlock another achievement/trophy.
  • Make sure you fully upgrade one of the skills on the right-hand side of any of the three skill trees to unlock another achievement/trophy.
  • Now you need to unlock Artery Strike (Swordmastery) and Burning Blood (Witchcraft). If you're missing a Manual, we've already unlocked all the Swordmastery Teachers and Witchcraft Vendors during previous days.
  • You need to decapitate an enemy with Artery Strike while they're affected by Burning Blood. The higher your Artery Strike rank, the greater the chance of decapitation.
  • Unlock skills that give you more Activation Charges and use both abilities consecutively against a human enemy. You may have to try several times before you successfully decapitate them. Doing so unlocks an achievement/trophy.
  • Load any save from before you unlocked Closing Wounds (Vampirism), wait until night and reduce yourself to less than one Health Segment.
  • Now go and speak to any merchant in a tavern — it needs to be an NPC with dialogue options, and any merchant available at night will do. You'll notice that the edges of your vision are darkened. Speak to the same NPC several times until Coen bites them without you deliberately choosing to do so, unlocking another achievement/trophy.
  • Reload the manual save from the beginning of the day.
  • Now we're going to "enter god mode". Spend those 39 Skill Points however you see fit. Remember that you have the locations of all Swordmastery Teachers and Witchcraft Vendors if you need to buy Manuals.
  • If you want some recommendations:
    • Maxing out Scarlet Shield (Vampirism) is essential.
    • Nourishing Blood, Razorsharp Claws, Closing Wounds, Voracious Bite and Blood Theft (Vampirism).
    • Bewitching Influence (Witchcraft).
    • Stinging Blade, Sustained Focus, Walking Fortress and Vigour (Swordmastery).
    • Spend the remaining points however you prefer.

Day 16

  • If you've followed the instructions above, you should have an indeterminate amount of Day 16 remaining.
  • Visit the Armourer in southwestern Svartrau, who opens at night. Upgrade your weapons, armour and rings as much as possible.
  • To avoid inconsistencies in the roadmap, do whatever you want until Day 17, as long as you don't complete Court Activities or anything else that increases Infamy.

Day 17

  • Complete The Cycle of Love.
  • It's essential that you spare Xanthe. This will make one part of the endgame considerably easier.
  • Now do whatever you like until nightfall.
  • Night falls.
  • Get the Phial of Xanthe's Blood and drink it to learn Blood Surge. Use the ability on an enemy and make them explode to unlock an achievement/trophy.
  • For the story to progress, you need to wait until the next day begins. Do anything you like except side quests.

Day 18

  • Brencis issues one final edict: you can no longer enter Svartrau on foot, meaning you'll only be able to enter the city at night until you finish the game.
  • This edict may not trigger immediately depending on how many soldiers you've killed along the way.
  • Make a manual save. We've reached the final stretch, and we'll return to this save afterwards to see the other endings.
  • From this point onwards, the roadmap branches.

Day 18 (The Turncoat)

  • You begin the day with all time segments available.
  • Pass time until nightfall.
  • Start the A Deal with the Devil (The Turncoat) route.
  • Complete The Firebrand and Shadows in the Woods.

Day 19 (The Turncoat)

  • Complete Where Loyalty Lies — you don't even need to finish the entire quest.
  • Once you know the location of the Manumit Hideout, you'll be able to finish A Deal with the Devil (The Turncoat).
  • Make sure you let the credits run all the way to the end to unlock several achievements/trophies, including the one for finishing the game on Duelist difficulty if you've played on that difficulty from the beginning, and the one for saving your family within 30 days.

Day 18 (The Patricide and The Knyazmaker)

  • Reload the manual save we told you to create before advancing the story.
  • We're now going to prepare a route for the remaining endings.
  • Remember that you can lower the difficulty now if you completed the Duelist run.
  • Complete The Firebrand, Shadows in the Woods and Where Loyalty Lies.
  • Night falls.
  • Complete Hive and Seek and What Hunts the Night.

Day 19 (The Patricide and The Knyazmaker)

  • Complete What Moves the Dead, which begins automatically after the previous quest.
  • Complete Distant Shadows, A Closer Look and Who Pulls the Strings.
  • Complete Echoes of Silenced Bells.
  • If you've followed our instructions, you should have 1 nighttime segment remaining.
  • Complete Our Rotten Roots.

Day 20 (The Patricide and The Knyazmaker)

  • You should begin the day with three time segments already consumed if you've followed the roadmap up to this point.
  • Complete Between the Words.
  • Complete Come Hither.
  • Night falls.
  • You should have 7 nighttime segments remaining if you've followed the guide.
  • Complete The Good Samaritan — if you go to Vicho and tell him the truth, don't side with him — then Burrow Sorrows and Tiny Dancer.
  • You should have 2 nighttime segments remaining if you've followed the guide.
  • Go and speak to the Sanzhani Tsarina and you'll be able to add an extra day to the deadline. You'll now have 31 days instead of 30.
  • Tear down two of Brencis's Banners. It doesn't matter which two.

Day 21 (The Patricide and The Knyazmaker)

  • Tear down the remaining three Brencis's Banners to unlock an achievement/trophy.
  • All side quests are temporarily unavailable, at least until night falls again.
  • You can use this time to unlock skills at a Shrine or complete activities around the world map, such as Soldier Camps, Monster Lairs and so on.
  • Night falls.
  • Complete The Night of Horrors.
  • Start Where Old Devils Lie — you won't be able to finish it yet.
  • You should have 1 nighttime segment remaining. Spend it however you like.

Day 22 (The Patricide and The Knyazmaker)
