Among the many merchants scattered across Vale Sangora in The Blood of Dawnwalker, one of the most unusual is the Silver Trader. Since silver is outlawed because of the threat it poses to the vrakhiri, it is literally worth more than gold. Being able to trade silver isn't straightforward, and you may not be able to do it when you first reach Svartrau... but it's well worth the effort.
Finding him is very easy. The Silver Trader can be found in the southwestern part of Svartrau City, near the boundary between Neustadt and Altenmarkt. His shop is inside a house that you can enter directly from the street.
However, he won't immediately agree to do business with you. One way to unlock trading is to reach Infamy Level 4 (Notorious) or higher. To raise your Infamy, you'll need to complete Court Activities for Brencis's boyars — in other words, progress through the game and undermine their influence.
There is also an earlier alternative: complete Into the Den and obtain the tip concerning someone dealing in silver in Neustadt. Once you have that information, you can confront the Silver Trader about his real business and convince him to trade with you without waiting until Infamy Level 4.
Silver itself isn't a currency you spend with this merchant. Instead, the Silver Trader is one of the few merchants willing to buy illegal silver valuables from you, and they sell for a very high amount of denarii.
Silver can be found as general loot throughout Vale Sangora, as well as in several fixed locations, so you should accumulate a decent amount simply by exploring. Ordinary merchants won't normally buy silver contraband, which makes the Silver Trader the place to go when you want to turn these valuables into money.
Like most merchants in the game, the Silver Trader has a changing inventory. Among the items that can appear in his stock, one of the most useful is The Relic of St. Dasius. If you haven't already obtained one elsewhere, this Legendary amulet can also serve as the Relic of a Saint required to craft the best armour set in the game.
