During Bad Blood, a quest in the Prologue of The Blood of Dawnwalker's story, you'll come face to face with Brencis, Coen's main enemy throughout the game. As you'd expect, you're supposed to lose this fight, but... is it actually possible to defeat Brencis if you're skilled enough? The Knyaz of Vale Sangora may seem like an unstoppable force, but perhaps your swordsmanship is enough to bring him down.
The short answer is "yes, but...". From a story perspective, you're supposed to lose this battle so the game can continue as intended. However, it is possible to defeat Brencis if you're skilled enough to survive the encounter. There is even an achievement/trophy tied to overcoming this challenge, and succeeding can lead you towards a secret early ending.
That said, this is very much an optional challenge. Defeating Brencis here brings Coen's adventure to an extremely premature conclusion, so you won't get to experience the main game by following this route.
