Do not treat a percentage quoted by another guide as an automatic sell signal. Peak returns vary between releases, platforms and individual market states. Watch the Return Percentage in each character's portfolio and sell when it stops increasing.

LCN is the safer exchange to understand because important story events can affect specific companies in a predictable direction. It is used for the Bilkinton rebound after The Hotel Assassination, both stages of The Multi Target Assassination, and the GoldCoast investment for The Construction Assassination.
The current prices can refresh within seconds; you do not need to wait 45 real-world minutes between checks. For mission-related investments, however, the clearest way to follow a large rise or recovery is to advance several in-game hours, then check the portfolio again.
BAWSAQ is often described as GTA 5's "online stock market", but that wording is misleading. You trade on BAWSAQ while playing Story Mode; the exchange itself depends on an internet connection and Rockstar's services. It is not a stock-trading feature in GTA Online.

Michael's six-hour sleep cycle is useful when you want finer control near a likely peak; Trevor's twelve-hour cycle is faster for a long recovery such as Redwood's. Opening a safehouse bed's save screen and backing out can also advance time without overwriting a slot. Avoid skipping several days in one go when a stock is already climbing rapidly.

Repeatedly destroying FlyUS aircraft after buying Air Emu, for example, is not a dependable or consistent money-making method across every version. Treat free-roam destruction strategies as experiments, not as certain investments. Lester's scripted mission trades are much more reliable.
