GTA 5 has 34 built-in gameplay cheats on PC. They cover invincibility, health and armor, weapons and ammunition, Wanted Levels, movement, world effects and vehicle spawns. Every gameplay cheat can be activated with a typed command or an in-game phone number.
PC also has the JRTALENT command for Director Mode and a hidden, phone-only Black Cellphone Easter egg. That brings the complete inventory on this page to 35 console commands and 36 phone numbers. The same list applies to both GTA V Legacy and GTA V Enhanced.
Story Mode only: these built-in commands do not work in GTA Online. GTA 5 also has no money cheat. Activating a cheat temporarily disables achievements for the current play session, so make a manual save before experimenting.

The two controller-independent PC methods are below. Typed commands are usually faster, while phone numbers are useful if the console key is difficult to identify on an international keyboard. If you use a compatible controller, you can also enter the corresponding Xbox or PlayStation button sequences; see the controller guides in the FAQ.
PAINKILLER.The printed symbol varies by keyboard layout. The same physical key may show `, ~, ¬, º or another character. If it does not open the console, temporarily changing the Windows input layout to US English can make the key easier to identify.
Enter the command as a single word, with no spaces. These are GTA 5's built-in Story Mode commands, not Windows launch options, mods or third-party trainers.
Cheat numbers are not stored as permanent contacts. On the dial pad, press * to restore the last number entered, then place the call again. This is useful for temporary effects such as Invincibility.
About the labels below each number: PAINKILLER, CATCHME, BUZZOFF and the other words are both mnemonics for the phone numbers and the actual commands PC players can type. The only exception on this page is the Black Cellphone Easter egg, which has a phone number but no console command.

The weapon code has limits: it supplies a predefined set that includes basic firearms, explosives and ammunition. It does not unlock every weapon added to GTA 5, and its ammunition still runs out.

Use Skyfall carefully: this is not a flight cheat or safe fast travel. It starts a dangerous free fall. You can steer to a degree, but you cannot deploy a parachute during the fall. Disable Super Jump first, because Skyfall may be unavailable while that effect is active.
The following 11 vehicles can be spawned during unrestricted Story Mode free roam, provided there is enough clear space. For vehicle statistics, prices and normal acquisition methods, see the complete GTA 5 cars and vehicles list.
If a vehicle does not appear: move outdoors and find a larger clear area. Aircraft and the Buzzard need considerably more space than a bicycle, motorcycle or car and cannot spawn inside buildings, tunnels or other confined locations.

There is no command that spawns every vehicle. These codes cover only the listed models; other vehicles must be found, stolen, purchased or unlocked normally.
Three additional vehicle commands become available only after you complete their Story Mode unlock requirements. Unlike on PlayStation and Xbox, PC players can type these mnemonic commands directly or use the corresponding phone numbers. Completing the requirement once makes the code usable on that save.

Older guides may still call these vehicles returning player
exclusives. For a current save, complete the Story Mode event or challenge shown above before entering the code. The code does not bypass its unlock requirement.
Dodo and Kraken require suitable open space, ideally near water. Duke O'Death also needs a clear outdoor spawn point.
These last two entries are not normal gameplay cheats. Director Mode is a separate creative mode; Black Cellphone is a hidden Easter egg.

JRTALENT opens Director Mode, not Rockstar Editor itself. If the Interaction Menu is available, press M and select Director Mode instead. Players who own only the standalone GTA Online product need Story Mode before Director Mode can be accessed.
Do not type EMPDROP into the PC console. Although that word is commonly used as a mnemonic for the Black Cellphone number, it is not a valid typed command.
Yes. The built-in Story Mode cheat inventory is the same in GTA V Legacy and GTA V Enhanced on PC. Enhanced did not add a new set of typed commands or remove the established Story Mode codes. The commands and phone numbers above can therefore be used whether the game was installed through Rockstar Games Launcher, Steam or Epic Games Store.
Rockstar renamed the original PC version GTA V Legacy and released GTA V Enhanced on March 4, 2025. Enhanced adds technical and visual improvements, while both PC versions remain available. Rockstar also allows a one-time migration of Story Mode progress from Legacy to Enhanced.
Unlocks belong to the save: EXTINCT, BUBBLES and DEATHCAR work only after their associated event or challenge has been completed in the save currently loaded. If one fails after changing editions or starting a new game, check that save's progress rather than reinstalling the game.
Rockstar's official support guidance confirms that saving is allowed while cheats are enabled, but using them changes what is available during the current play session.

Safest routine: create a separate manual save before using cheats. Reload that clean save or restart GTA 5 before pursuing achievements or returning to mission progress.
No money cheat exists in GTA 5 on PC or any other platform. There is no legitimate built-in command or phone number that adds cash in Story Mode, and built-in cheats cannot be used in GTA Online. Pages or videos claiming otherwise normally show third-party mods, obsolete exploits or fake commands.

Mods and trainers are not cheat codes. They are third-party software, have different installation and safety implications, and are outside the scope of this guide. Never take a mod menu or trainer into GTA Online.
