Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has several releases, and their cheat inputs are not interchangeable. Choose the guide that matches both your platform and the edition shown in your game library, store listing or title screen. Using a list made for another release can produce the wrong effect or no response at all.
If your copy is part of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, use one of the four Definitive Edition guides. Those pages cover GTA III, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas, while the four classic and Xbox 360 guides on this page cover San Andreas only.

These four guides cover standalone versions of GTA San Andreas. Similar button patterns do not make the releases identical, so choose by product rather than by controller shape.
Use the original GTA San Andreas PC cheats guide for the 2005 Windows release. Its codes are typed directly on the keyboard during gameplay, and accepted alternative strings for the same effect are grouped together. Do not use it as a complete compatibility list for the 2021 remaster.
Use the original GTA San Andreas PS2 cheats guide for the 2004 PlayStation 2 game. The combinations use the PS2-era controller mapping and are kept separate from the 2021 Definitive Edition list for PS5 and PS4.
Use the original GTA San Andreas Xbox cheats guide for the actual 2005 Xbox release. It uses the older White and Black button names found on the Duke and Controller S. It is not the list for the 2014 Xbox 360 port or the 2021 collection.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was released in 2021 and contains remastered versions of GTA III, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas. Rockstar confirmed that some older effects were removed for technical reasons, and the remasters also have version-specific inputs. These guides therefore keep corroborated combinations separate from removed, disputed or commonly mislabelled listings.
The GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition PC cheats guide contains keyboard codes for all three games. It distinguishes separate effects from alternate strings that activate the same effect and documents compatibility exceptions outside the main tables.

The GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition Nintendo Switch cheats guide is written for Joy-Con, Switch Lite and Pro Controller inputs. Nintendo and Xbox print different letters on the same face-button positions. Do not copy an Xbox sequence letter for letter; use the Switch combination exactly as listed.
Look at the full name in your game library, store page or title screen. The hardware alone is not a reliable identifier because PS4 and Xbox One can each access more than one release.

For the most confusing Xbox case, see Rockstar’s explanation of San Andreas through Xbox One backward compatibility. If you are on a newer Xbox console, identify the installed product by its full title rather than assuming that the console selects one particular edition.
Create a separate manual save before entering any cheat and do not overwrite your only clean file afterward. Rockstar warns that cheat codes can cause graphical anomalies, scripting errors and even corrupt saved games. Pedestrian, riot, gang, traffic and world-state changes are especially risky because they may disrupt missions or persist unexpectedly.

No version has a true infinite-money switch. The familiar health, armor and money cheat adds $250,000 each time it is accepted, so it can be repeated, but the exact keyboard string or controller combination depends on the release.
