Metacritic ha anunciado los juegos mejor valorados en 2017, con un total de 11 títulos que han superado el promedio de 90 sobre 100 este año (con al menos siete críticas publicadas en medios especializados).
Nintendo es la desarrolladora con más juegos entre los más valorados y Nintendo Switch, con cuatro juegos, se impone al resto de plataformas. Eso sí, el listado no tiene en consideración que algunos juegos son multiplataforma, como Undertale o What Remains of Edith Finch al tomar como referencia solo los análisis publicados en 2017 para juegos de ese mismo año, y las diferentes valoraciones entre unas plataformas y otras. Eso explica también que The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sea el mejor juego y también el tercero.
Metacritic es un agregador de críticas que recoge las puntuaciones de destacados medios intenacionales, como Vandal, y realiza la media entre todas las notas publicadas.
