When playing matches in Free Fire, we can use survival items and equipment that can greatly improve our chances of winning. You will likely obtain these items over time through various rewards, by purchasing them from the store or by finding them while exploring during matches. You will need them if you want to perform at your best, just as using the best weapons can get you out of plenty of difficult situations.
In this section of our complete guide, we show you every type of item you can use in Free Fire, including survival and protective equipment, as well as the effects of each one.
All equippable items
Throughout each match, you can find many useful items that will help you progress in different ways. Below, we show you all of them.
Bulletproof vests
When it comes to protection, vests are among the most important items, as they provide additional armor and allow you to survive enemy fire for longer. There are four levels of bulletproof vests. If yours becomes damaged, try to replace it with one in better condition.
Level 1 Vest: The most basic type. It reduces bullet damage by 33% and has 190 durability.
Level 2 Vest: Brown in color. It reduces bullet damage by 50% and has 225 durability.
Level 3 Vest: Features a camouflage design. It reduces bullet damage by 66% and has 260 durability.
Level 4 Vest: This can only be obtained by upgrading a Level 3 Vest or through tokens and treasure maps. It reduces bullet damage by 70% and has 290 durability. It can also be reinforced to improve it even further.
Helmets
Helmets are another basic type of protective equipment. There are four different helmet levels:
Level 1 Helmet: Green in color. It reduces bullet damage by 33% and has 70 durability.
Level 2 Helmet: Features a camouflage design. It reduces bullet damage by 45% and has 115 durability.
Level 3 Helmet: Made of metal. It reduces bullet damage by 57% and has 240 durability.
Level 4 Helmet: Provides a higher level of protection and has 273 durability.
Repair and upgrade kits
There are a couple of items that allow us to repair our protective equipment and even upgrade it to a higher level. These are:
Vest Upgrade Kit: Allows you to upgrade your vest to a higher level.
Repair Kit: Repairs damaged protective equipment by restoring 100 durability points to vests and helmets.
Camouflage items
Free Fire features several camouflage items that serve as tools for hiding from enemies. They help you remain unnoticed around the map. These are the available camouflage items:
Bush: Usually found inside special crates dropped from the sky during matches or obtained through Airdrops. Its appearance makes it ideal for hiding in plain sight out in the open.
Crate: Only available in Classic mode. It allows you to disguise yourself as a wooden crate.
Oil Barrel: Can be found randomly in many different locations.
Backpacks
Backpacks are extremely useful items because they allow us to increase our available inventory space and therefore carry more items during a match. These are the available backpacks:
Level 1 Backpack: Has a storage capacity of 200 points.
Level 2 Backpack: Brown in color and has a storage capacity of 300 points.
Level 3 Backpack: Features a camouflage design and has a storage capacity of 400 points.
Mushrooms
Throughout the grassy areas of each map, we can find different mushrooms that grant EP when consumed. They are not particularly large, but their glow makes them easy to identify. These are the available mushrooms:
Level 1 Mushroom: Grants 50 EP.
Level 2 Mushroom: Grants 75 EP.
Level 3 Mushroom: Grants 100 EP.
Level 4 Mushroom: Grants 200 EP.
Healing items
The game's main healing items that can be used during battles include the following:
Med Kit: Restores 75 HP and takes four seconds to use.
Inhaler: Restores 25 HP and up to 150 EP.
Treatment Gun: Restores the health of your teammates, but cannot be used to heal yourself.
All survival items
From the Free Fire main menu, before starting a match, you can select several items that will accompany you when you enter the game. These are divided into two categories: survival items and basic items. Bear in mind that you can only equip one item of each type.
Below, we show you all the survival and basic items you can choose before a match.
Bonfire
Item type: Survival.
What it does: Your character places a bonfire on the ground that restores some HP and EP to you and your allies.
Summon Airdrop
Item type: Survival.
What it does: Once the match begins, an Airdrop starts charging and becomes available after a few minutes. When used, your character throws a marker indicating where the Airdrop will land.
Treasure Map
Item type: Survival.
What it does: While you are on the plane, you can activate the Treasure Map to place a special item crate for you at a random location on the map. These crates contain excellent equipment that can give you an early advantage.
Bounty Token
Item type: Survival.
What it does: When you eliminate your first opponent, additional items will be placed inside that opponent's loot crate.
Armor Crate
Item type: Basic.
What it does: Allows you to begin the match with a low-level vest or helmet.
Supply Crate
Item type: Basic.
What it does: Allows you to begin the match with a Med Kit or a random type of ammunition.
Leg Pockets
Item type: Basic.
What it does: Allows you to begin the match with 30 additional inventory capacity.
Scanner
Item type: Basic.
What it does: At the beginning of the match, you can see how many players are still aboard the plane. After jumping, nearby enemies will remain visible on the map until you touch the ground.
