Aunque no llevo mucho tiempo trabajando con sus novedades, uno de esos pequeños detalles que me han gustado de Photoshop CS3 es el pequeño retoque a la interfaz que estaba sin cambiar desde... bueno, desde hace décadas.

Cada vez había más paneles, herramientas y mejoras que ya ni se sabía donde meter. Incluso situando Historial en la parte superior acababa siendo un engorro, por no hablar de la caja de herramientas que era demasiado gruesa y se llevaba buena parte del espacio de trabajo.

Ahora parece que han corregido algunas cosas, en parte inspirado por los paneles de Macromedia o del mismo InDesign, resulta cómodo que algunas de las funciones menos usadas estén escondidas como un mero icono, y cuando se necesitan (por ejemplo, la edición de párrafos), se despliegan. La tecla F que sirve para cambiar el espacio ahora es más útil, ya que en una de sus formas se amplía el lienzo sin quedar por debajo de los paneles de capas, algo que antes sucedía (impidiendo llegar a esa parte con la miniatura que hace de zoom).

En fin, que mientras Adobe siga mimando su producto ninguna otra empresa podrá toser a Photoshop. No vendría mal que Corel se pusiera las pilas.

Ya falta menos para la esperada versión CS3, primera desde la compra de Macromedia. Estará lista el mes que viene y en varios packs.



Adobe has announced the Creative Suite 3 product line, uniting many different integrated design and collaboration tools like Photoshop to Dreamweaver. This upgrade across the board is the most active move to bring the best of Adobe and Macromedia products together. This upgrade, above many previous, will provide designers and developers with tools and creative options for all facets of print, web, mobile, interactive, film, and video production.

There are six new configurations of the Adobe Creative Suite 3 [CS 3]. These include the CS 3 Design Premium and Design Standard editions; CS 3 Web Premium and Web Standard editions; and CS 3 Production Premium. Furthermore, Adobe CS Master Collection combines 12 of Adobe’s new design and development applications in a single box.

Most of the CS 3 editions will be available for both Power PC and Intel-based Macs as well as XP and Vista. Artists finding themselves jumping between Illustrator to Photoshop, to Dreamweaver, to Flash, will find the transition particularly pleasing. As these apps are being brought closer together, as well as being updated, they all work better together.

Adobe’s CS 3 Design Premium and Standard, and the CS 3 Web Premium and Standard will begin shipping in April 2007. CS 3 Production Premium and CS 3 Master Collection for Mac OS X on Intel-based systems and for XP and Windows Vista platforms will begin shipping worldwide in the third quarter of 2007. The estimated street price for the Adobe CS 3 Design Premium is US$1,799, US$1,599 for Adobe CS 3 Web Premium, US$1,699 for Adobe CS 3 Production Premium, and US$2,499 for Adobe CS 3 Master Collection.
