Una de las apuestas más ambiciosas de Microsoft en los últimos años es Xbox Game Pass, un servicio de suscripción que por 9,99 € al mes te permite jugar a un catálogo de más de 100 juegos en tu Xbox Series X/S y Xbox One, sin ninguna limitación y descargados en tu consola. Además, también existe Xbox Game Pass para PC al mismo precio, aunque con un catálogo distinto que incluye EA Play para ordenador. Por último, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate ofrece por 12,99 € al mes la suscripción de consola y ordenador, Xbox Live Gold, además de EA Play en consola y juego en la nube a parte del catálogo en teléfonos móviles y tabletas Android (está en fase de pruebas en iOS y navegador).

Este servicio, al que muchos se refieren como el Netflix de los videojuegos, va creciendo mes a mes, añadiendo nuevos títulos a la biblioteca, entre ellos los títulos exclusivos para Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One y Windows 10, como Halo Infinite, Sea of Thieves y Forza Horizon 4, o la nuevas entregas de Forza Motosport o Gears of War que todavía están por anunciar, estarán disponibles desde el día de su lanzamiento también para los suscriptores de Xbox Game Pass, sin coste adicional.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate es una suscripción distinta que aglutina varios servicios: Xbox Game Pass para consola, Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass para PC, EA Play en consolas Xbox y xCloud. Así, se puede acceder a los juegos de Xbox Game Pass y EA Play desde Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, ordenadores con Windows 10 y dispositivos móviles (smartphones y tabletas) Android a través de la nube; próximamente xCloud llegará también a iOS y navegadores web.

¿Cuánto cuesta Xbox Game Pass?

Xbox Game Pass para consola y para PC tiene un precio de 9,99 euros al mes en España, 599 pesos en Argentina, 25.900 pesos en Colombia, 6990 pesos en Chile y 139 pesos en México, y no es necesario ser miembro Gold de Xbox Live. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate cuesta 12,99 euros, e incluye la suscripción Xbox Live Gold y EA Play, que da acceso al catálogo de juegos de Electronic Arts.

¿Cómo funciona el juego en la nube de xCloud?

La suscripción de Xbox Game Pass Ultimate incluye Xbox Game Pass en la nube (antes denominado xCloud). Es un servicio aún en fase beta que permite acceder a buena parte del catálogo del servicio a través de internet desde la aplicación Xbox Game Pass de Android. Algunos juegos tienen controles táctiles y otros necesitan que haya conectado un mando de Xbox por cable o por Bluetooth. El servicio en la nube está en fase de prueba cerrada en dispositivos iPhone y iPad (a través del navegador) y en ordenadores de cualquier sistema operativo a través del navegador. Hay planes para llevarlo a otros aparatos como Smart TV.

¿Cómo funciona EA Play en Xbox Game Pass?

EA Play es una suscripción que da acceso a numerosos juegos del catálogo de Electronic Arts. La versión para consolas Xbox está incluida en Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, mientras que para acceder a la versión de PC basta con estar suscrito a Xbox Game Pass para PC. En Xbox One y Xbox Series X/S los juegos de EA Play aparecen en el mismo listado de los juegos de Game Pass. Sin embargo, en ordenador es distinto: algunos sí que se muestran en el menú, pero la mayoría de ellos están accesibles desde la aplicación Origin y desde la nueva app EA Desktop.

Los exclusivos de Microsoft desde el primer día en Xbox Game Pass

Desde marzo de 2018, con la llegada de Sea of Thieves, todas las producciones de Xbox Game Studios, los títulos exclusivos de la compañía para Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One y Windows 10, estarán disponibles desde su día de lanzamiento en Game Pass, sin tener que pagar un precio adicional.

Éste es un servicio independiente de Juegos con Gold, por lo que no habrá ningún cambio en el otro servicio mensual y seguiremos recibiendo dos juegos para Xbox 360 y dos para Xbox One mientras estemos suscritos a Xbox Live Gold (Xbox Game Pass Ultimate incluye Gold). Una vez descargados, los juegos se añaden a nuestra biblioteca principal como un juego cualquiera, y los podemos ejecutar desde ella sin mayor problema. ¿Puedo jugar offline?

Sí, los juegos se descargan en la consola (o el PC) y no es necesario estar conectados a internet para jugarlos. Eso sí, si pasamos 30 días sin conectarnos a internet, tendremos que iniciar sesión online en la consola para verificar que la suscripción sigue activa. Obviamente, es necesario conexión permanente para jugar a los títulos a través de xCloud.

Tanto Xbox Game Pass Ultimate como Xbox Game Pass para PC se pueden probar durante el primer mes por 1 €. La suscripción de Xbox Game Pass solo para consola no tiene periodo de prueba.

¿Pierdo mis logros o partidas cuando se termine la suscripción o si se retira el juego?

No. Todos los progresos se mantienen, y se pueden retomar si reactivamos la suscripción o adquirimos el juego.

¿Puedo tener otras suscripciones activas?

Sí, es perfectamente compatible con Xbox Live Gold o EA Play (ambas se incluye en Xbox Game Pass Ultimate).

¿Qué pasa si compro un contenido descargable o dinero virtual para un juego y termina la suscripción o si se retira el juego?

Para acceder a cualquier complemento es necesario tener una suscripción activa o comprar el juego. Si se retira un juego, habría que adquirirlo para acceder al complemento.

Mi suscripción ha terminado pero el juego sigue en la biblioteca. ¿Es un error?

No. El juego no se podrá ejecutar, pero seguirá en la biblioteca hasta que lo eliminemos manualmente. Así, evitamos tener que descargarlo si reactivamos la suscripción.
