One of the most popular free-to-play titles around is Roblox, the charming world and game creation platform renowned for its huge creative community and endless possibilities. Although its graphics are relatively modest, before you download it for free, you may want to know its minimum requirements for PC and mobile devices or which devices are compatible with the game. If so, you have come to the right place, as we answer all these questions below.
Roblox minimum PC requirements (Windows and Mac)
Playing Roblox on a computer is very accessible, as the game is optimized well enough to run without too many problems even on computers more than 10 years old. Below are the hardware requirements your PC must meet to run Roblox:
Graphics card: requires at least DirectX 9 and Shader Model 2.0. For the best performance, a computer less than five years old with a dedicated graphics card is recommended.
Processor: a relatively recent processor (2005 or newer) with a clock speed of 1.6 GHz or higher is recommended. Some older AMD processors may experience problems.
RAM or memory: at least 1 GB of memory is recommended on Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10.
Storage space: at least 20 MB of available system storage is recommended for installing Roblox.
It is also worth noting that Roblox requires an internet connection to play. A minimum connection speed of 4–8 Mbps is recommended for single-user households, although homes with more users should have greater bandwidth to avoid problems.
Minimum laptop requirements
If you play on a laptop, Roblox recommends using one that is less than three years old and has integrated graphics. These are the minimum requirements for playing Roblox smoothly on a laptop:

PC/Windows: runs on Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, and Windows 10. On Windows 8/8.1, you must run Roblox in Desktop Mode, as Metro Mode—the tiled Start screen—is not currently supported.
Note: On Windows 7, your browser must be Internet Explorer 10 or later.
Mac: Roblox Client can be installed on OS X 10.7 Lion or later, but only on Intel Macs, while Roblox Studio requires OS X 10.11 El Capitan or later.
Linux: Roblox does not support Linux operating systems.
ChromeOS: ChromeOS version 53 or later is required, and you must first enable the Google Play Store on your device.
In addition, Roblox's video recording feature works only on Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, and Windows 10. The game is also compatible with Windows XP, although newer versions are recommended due to the age of this operating system and will provide a better overall experience.
Roblox minimum Android and Apple iOS requirements and compatible devices
As with computers, Roblox runs on a wide range of Android and iOS mobile devices. These are the minimum requirements for installing Roblox on an Android or iOS device, along with the compatible models:
Android devices: most devices running Android 4.4 or later are supported. They must also have an ARMv7 processor and must not use the Tegra 2 chipset.
Apple iOS devices: iOS 8 or later is required. Compatible models include the iPad 2 or later, iPhone 4s or later, and fifth-generation iPod touch.
Amazon Fire OS devices: Kindle Fire HDX 7 (third generation), Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 (third generation), Fire HDX 8.9 (fourth generation), Fire HD 6 and 7 (fourth generation), Fire HD 8 and 10 (fifth generation), and Fire (fifth generation), excluding the 2013 Amazon Fire HD.
Remember that you need an internet connection of at least 4–8 Mbps to play Roblox on any device. If you are using your mobile provider's 3G or 4G network and experience problems running the game, we recommend connecting to a Wi-Fi network for a faster and more stable connection.
Warning screens on Android
On Android devices, you may encounter two types of warning screens when attempting to launch the game. Due to the huge number of different Android phones and tablets available, the Roblox team uses the following two warnings for unsupported devices:
Skippable Devices: these devices display a warning informing you that your device may not be powerful enough to run the game smoothly. This is only a warning: although your device is not officially supported, games may still run, but they are likely to suffer from some—or significant—lag. Tap outside the warning box to dismiss it, and the game should continue loading.
Unskippable Devices: you will receive a message informing you that your device does not meet the minimum system requirements. This means that the device cannot play Roblox games. This message generally appears on devices using a Tegra 2 graphics chipset or a processor other than ARMv7. These phones and tablets do not support the features Roblox requires to run. However, users who receive this unskippable message can still access all other sections of the app outside the games themselves.
