Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, Arc System Works' fighting game for PS5 and PC, delivers fast-paced battles that are, of course—as is usually the case with this genre—much more entertaining when played with friends. There is no shortage of action, as the game includes several multiplayer features and modes. If you still do not know much about them, this section of our guide explains which online modes are available and what options it offers for playing locally with another person.
Matches in Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls primarily consist of online 4v4 team battles. This means that unless you are fighting against the CPU in an offline mode, such as Episode Mode or Training Mode, you will be facing another real player's team. In other words, you control and manage a team of four characters, while your opponent does the same.
The game offers plenty of online options. Its public lobbies or rooms can accommodate up to 64 players simultaneously and provide access to both ranked and casual matches. Players can also create private online rooms.
In any case, remember that online matches always pit one player against another player, with each controlling their own team. If you are playing on PS5, you will also need an active PS Plus subscription to play online.
In addition to its online multiplayer modes, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls also offers local multiplayer. For example, two players can play together on the same system in Versus Mode, either battling one another face-to-face on the couch or fighting against the CPU.
Local multiplayer matches on PS5 do not require a PS Plus subscription.
