Sony and Arc System Works will release Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls on August 6 for PlayStation 5 and PC. The 4v4 fighting game pits Marvel heroes and villains against one another in a tournament to save Earth, which is threatened by the Champion of the Universe.
As is often the case—especially with fighting games—players will be able to choose between several editions featuring different amounts of content, ranging from additional costumes to the Year 1 Character and Stage Pass.
The game will receive four new characters during its first year, as well as an additional stage. The first confirmed fighter is Phoenix Cyclops, a version of Cyclops empowered by the Phoenix Force that appeared in Avengers vs. X-Men. He will be available this fall.
Players who choose the digital version can pick from three different editions, all priced identically across the PlayStation Store, Steam and Epic Games Store.
The Standard Edition includes the base game:
The Digital Deluxe Edition—€94.99— includes several extras, most notably the Year 1 DLC:
The Ultimate Edition—€109.99— adds several cosmetic items to the Digital Deluxe Edition, including iconic costumes for some of the fighters on the roster:
Pre-ordering any of the digital editions also grants several customization items for your room avatar:
These pre-order bonuses are also available with the standard physical edition—the only physical version being sold—but exclusively through GAME Spain.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has already held several closed and open betas, the most recent of which took place only a few days ago. Here are some of the highlights of a game that aims to continue the proud legacy of the Marvel vs. Capcom series.
