Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, Arc System Works' 4v4 fighting game, has been available for PS5 and PC since August 6, 2026, but Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 players who are Marvel fans may be wondering whether it could eventually arrive on those consoles as well. Want to know the answer? In this section of our guide, we explain what is currently known about a possible release on consoles outside the PlayStation ecosystem.
At the time of writing, around the launch of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, there is no official information suggesting that the game could eventually come to Xbox Series X|S or Nintendo Switch 2. For now, it is a PlayStation 5 console exclusive, although it is also available on PC.
The reason Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is exclusive to PS5 on consoles is that the game is published directly by Sony Interactive Entertainment, which partnered with Marvel Games and Arc System Works to develop the project. As a result, SIE has chosen to release it only on PS5 and PC.
However, this does not necessarily mean the game will remain a permanent PS5 console exclusive. There have been previous cases where games published by Sony eventually reached competing consoles, as happened with the popular Helldivers 2 when it was released for Xbox Series X|S in August 2025.
There have even been other examples, such as Marathon, which launched as a multiplatform game in 2026, and LEGO Horizon Adventures, which was also released on Switch despite both titles being published by Sony. In addition, Arc System Works is not one of Sony's first-party studios and has released other multiplatform games, including Dragon Ball FighterZ and Guilty Gear: Strive, which could influence the future of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls.
As mentioned above, it is currently unknown whether Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls will eventually reach Xbox or Nintendo consoles, but there is at least a possibility that it could happen. Perhaps Sony will consider expanding its availability once the game has sold enough copies on PS5 and PC, or after a reasonable period of time if it becomes a major success and the company wants to generate even more revenue from it.
In any case, this game is a collaboration with Marvel, much like Insomniac's Spider-Man adventures, which have never been released on Xbox or Nintendo consoles despite the passing of the years. That is also worth keeping in mind. Whatever happens, if the situation changes at any point, we will keep you informed through the news section of our website.
