The characters in Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls have a wide range of moves that they can use in battle. Most of them can be practised in the Tutorial, but there are several shared special moves that may require some additional explanation. Here, we explain how to perform a Super Assemble and a Tōkon Assemble.
A Super Assemble is a special attack that involves using two or three Super Skills consecutively. To perform one, you must meet three key requirements. First, you must have at least one reserve character. If you have no reserve characters, you cannot perform a Super Assemble. You must also have at least 100 points in your Skill Gauge.
Once these two requirements have been met, the first step is to use your character's Super Skill. You can do this with the Triangle combo or by pressing R1 + R2, or the equivalent controls on PC. Be careful: if you press R1 + R2, do not press any directional input at the same time, as you may use your Ultimate Skill instead. Ultimate Skills do not allow the follow-up described below. While the Super Skill is connecting, repeatedly press the Cross button. The Tutorial recommends simply holding the button down, but for some reason this does not appear to work.
The result is that before your Super Skill's finishing blow, one of your teammates will jump in and use their own. If you have a total of 150 points in your Skill Gauge, you can do this a second time by continuing to press Cross. Before the second Super Skill's finishing blow, a third character will enter the fight and use theirs, leaving you in control of the third character once the attack ends. A Super Assemble has one advantage over using each Super Skill separately: it benefits from the combo damage bonus.
A Tōkon Assemble is a team's ultimate move. It is the most damaging special attack in the game, but also the most difficult to use because of the conditions that must be met. First, you must be one round away from losing the match. This means that in a one-round match, you can use it immediately. In a best-of-three match, however, your opponent must have already won one round, and so on. You must also have reserve characters available and have accumulated 150 points in your Skill Gauge.
Once these three requirements have been met, simply land the full Square combo—the one finished by your reserve characters—and continue pressing Square until the ASSEMBLE! message appears. Alternatively, you can press R2 + Cross to perform the Tōkon Assemble directly, but bear in mind that your opponent may block it. It is therefore better to attempt it after landing the complete basic combo.
At that point, the attack has been successfully activated. Your reserve characters will strike the enemy in a special animation, and the character who initiated the Tōkon Assemble will perform a unique special attack to finish the sequence. Bear in mind that this does not mean you will defeat your opponent instantly, but it will deal massive damage.
