In Grand Theft Auto VI, as in any game of this kind, we will meet plenty of important characters. What you will find here is information about the confirmed main playable characters, as well as the supporting characters who will play a key role in your adventure through the streets of Vice City and other areas of the state of Leonida — the fictional representations of Miami and the state of Florida, respectively. Of course, all this content is free of spoilers; we only want to introduce you to some of the characters who will be most relevant to Lucia and Jason's search for freedom.
Jason Duval is one of the game's two playable characters. A troubled adolescence led him to enlist in the army in an attempt to get his life back on track. However, one thing led to another and he ended up deeply involved in the smuggling and drug trafficking business in the Leonida Keys. Today, he carries out all kinds of jobs for Brian Heder, one of the longest-operating traffickers in Vice City and the surrounding areas.
As things stand, Jason is basically forced to keep working for Brian. Even his house belongs to Heder, who lets him stay there as long as he continues to follow his orders. Meeting Lucia could be his way of finding the peaceful life he seems to need so badly.
Lucia Caminos is one of the game's two playable characters. She is a woman of Hispanic heritage, a tough woman who became even tougher growing up on the streets of Liberty City. With a childhood marked by the need to be strong and fight for her loved ones, a series of unconfirmed crimes, referred to only as "fighting for her family", led her to spend time in the Leonida Penitentiary in the 2020s.
However, she has now been released on parole, and her goal is to achieve the peaceful life her mother dreamed of for her... even if she has to do it at gunpoint.
Lucia and Jason will meet during the game, at some point that has yet to be specified. However, it is confirmed that they will become a couple as the plot progresses. Both share the same goal: to escape the violence, crime and trouble that have defined their lives up to this point.
As expected, in GTA VI we will meet a large number of supporting characters. Some will naturally have a more important presence than others, as well as a greater impact on the plot and side missions. Here you can see some of the most relevant supporting characters confirmed so far:
Roxy's partner in crime and business. They have been together since they were teenagers, when they used to rip off traffickers to make money. Through hard work — and perhaps the money they stole along the way — they carved out a place for themselves five years ago in the music industry as the duo Real Dimez. However, a few little problems will lead them to trust Dre'Quan and start working with Only Raw Records, Boobie Ike's label. Their social media presence makes this pair of artists fairly relevant figures in the city, and they are looking to repeat the big hit they had five years ago.
Once a professional con man and hustler, time has treated Boobie Ike fairly well. These days he is a relatively respectable real estate magnate who runs the Jack of Hearts club. He is also a music producer looking for a major breakthrough in the industry with his partner, Dre'Quan Priest. His label, Only Raw Records, manages Real Dimez, the musical duo formed by Bae Luxe and Roxy. Do not let his generally affable personality fool you: when business is involved, Boobie is a shark who has no problem showing his teeth and tearing off a piece of flesh.
Brian Heder is one of the most established traffickers in the Leonida Keys. He was there during the golden age of drugs, and the fact that he is still active says everything you need to know about him and the way he does things. He is not the kind of person you want against you, and having him do you favors is not exactly the best thing that can happen to you either. At present, he is Jason's boss at the beginning of the story. This is not the kind of job you can simply walk away from.
Cal Hampton is an associate of Brian Heder. If being a conspiracy theorist were a profession, Cal would be a top executive in the business. Among his main hobbies are being suspicious of flocks of birds flying in formation and listening to the Coast Guard frequency. The first is strange; the second has probably been useful when bringing in shipments of merchandise. Who knows — if we get UFOs this time, Cal will surely have something to say.
Boobie Ike's business partner. Although his professional career began as a drug dealer, the truth is that Dre'Quan may be one of the few people here with genuine legitimate ambitions. His dream? To conquer the music world and go solo. Although his own tracks have not achieved much success, it is clear that he has a talent for spotting talent. After all, it was his mediation that led to Real Dimez signing with Only Raw Records, Boobie Ike's production company. It is quite possible that his desire to go independent will not sit too well with his partner, who is known for never letting a good business opportunity slip away.
Brian Heder's wife. Well, she is actually his third wife, and we hope she is the last one. Do not get the wrong idea about her: she is not the trophy wife of a successful man in the illegal business world. Lori knows how to use weapons, and she will probably shoot you in the chest — with a couple more shots for good measure — if you get in her way.
We do not know whether Phil will end up playing a major role in Lucia and Jason's adventure. We do not know whether there will be side missions directly related to him. What we do know is that you will be giving him a lot of money, because he owns Ammu-Nation. Both he and the Ammu-Nation gun stores have appeared in previous installments of the series, and their presence in GTA VI seems like a nod to the fans. No, he is not the same character we have seen in previous entries, or at least it would be difficult for him to be — since the original Phil was missing an arm. However, it is clear that Rockstar wanted to bring this gun-crazed lunatic back in some form.
Raúl Bautista is a true professional in the complex art of bank robbery. Reaching a certain age and still being on the streets is clear proof that he knows how to do his job. Raúl is handsome, charming, able to convince anyone, and willing to risk his neck if that is what it takes to finish the job. He is always looking for some deep pocket with enough cash to make the risk worthwhile... and people with whom to carry out the heist. Crossing paths with him and his jobs will be inevitable.
Roxy is the other half of the duo Real Dimez alongside Bae Luxe. Inseparable since childhood, inseparable in their work. Whatever fate has in store for one of them, it is quite likely to drag the other along with it too.
Stefanie is the social worker who works for the state of Leonida as part of its prison system. She is the person in charge of Lucia's parole and seems to believe in second chances, like the one our protagonist has been given. Her role in the game is not clear for now, although considering Lucia will be wearing an ankle monitor, it is possible she may give us a little call if we do something we should not. Or worse, send the parole officer after us if we break the rules. We do not know, and if we did, we would not tell you.
