As can happen with any game, Grand Theft Auto VI will have more than one different edition available to buy on the various platforms where the game will launch. As most companies do, Take-Two and Rockstar offer us more than one option with different prices and content to choose from. Here we will break down the different editions confirmed for the platforms on which the game will be available at launch: Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC.
Technically, there is a physical edition of GTA VI in the sense that there will be an edition with a box. However, the box only contains a code to download the game, not a disc.
The first thing you need to know is that if you pre-order the game before launch, you will get access to the Vintage Vice City DLC. This pre-order bonus is available on all platforms where the game will be released, whether you buy it physically or digitally, except for one exception noted below.
As you can imagine, the Standard Edition grants access to the game, with no extra content beyond the bonus DLC if you pre-order the game before launch, or any additional extras that may be included by the different stores where you buy the game, none of which have been confirmed for now. The game will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC, where you can buy it both physically — remember that in this case, it is a code and does not include a disc — and digitally through each platform's store.
The Ultimate Edition of Grand Theft Auto VI is only available in digital format. It will give us access to the base game and a good amount of DLC content, ranging from exclusive vehicles to special missions and shops that will only open their doors if we buy this edition. It will also be possible to pay for an upgrade to the Ultimate version later on, if you buy the Standard Edition and want access to all the additional content.
For now, it has not been announced whether any kind of collector's edition of the game will be released with items such as a steelbook, art book, postcards or anything similar.
