Mortal Kombat 11 rewards patience, spacing and knowing when it is safe to attack. New players should begin with our beginner combat guide, which explains the fundamental controls and the mechanics that separate MK11 from other fighting games.
You will learn how to use Special Moves and Amplify, manage the automatically recharging Offensive and Defensive Gauges, escape throws, recognize Kounters and Punishes, and make the most of Krushing Blows and Fatal Blows. Finishers are one of the defining features of Mortal Kombat 11, but they do not all work in the same way. Fatalities, Friendships and Stage Fatalities are performed after winning the final round, while Brutalities must meet specific conditions and end the fight with the required attack. A Quitality is triggered automatically when an opponent leaves an online match.

They can be earned through gameplay or purchased with real money and spent on selected items in the rotating Premium Shop, including cosmetics, Brutalities and Easy Fatality Tokens. They are not required to complete Story Mode, unlock Frost or gain a competitive gameplay advantage.
