Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate has 37 Stage Fatality inputs, one for every playable fighter, but only three arenas support them: Dead Pool, Shaolin Trap Dungeon and Tournament. Win the round that decides the match, stand at Close range when FINISH HIM! or FINISH HER! appears, and enter your fighter's command before the finishing window expires.

The same character-specific command works on all three compatible arenas; the arena determines the environmental animation. Stage Fatalities are available automatically and were added for every MK11 owner through the free update released alongside Aftermath on May 26, 2020. You do not need to purchase Aftermath, although you must own a DLC fighter to use that character and perform their Stage Fatality.

How to perform a Stage Fatality in Mortal Kombat 11

  1. Play on Dead Pool, Shaolin Trap Dungeon or Tournament.
  2. Win the round that decides the match.
  3. Wait for FINISH HIM! or FINISH HER! to appear.
  4. Move directly beside the defeated opponent at Close range.
  5. Enter the Stage Fatality command listed for your fighter before the finishing window closes.

You do not need to stand beside a particular trap or move the opponent to the center of the arena. The positional requirement is Close range relative to the defeated fighter, and the game handles the environmental animation after the command activates.

Every character uses one specific Stage Fatality input. Once you know that command, you can use it without changing anything on all three compatible stages. It does not have to be equipped, discovered in the Krypt or earned from a Tower.

During a match, pause the game and select Move List > Finishers to review the command. Forward always means toward the opponent and Back means away from them, regardless of which side of the screen your fighter occupies.

Why your Stage Fatality is not working

If a normal attack occurs or the finishing window expires instead of activating the Stage Fatality, check the following:

  • You selected an incompatible arena: Stage Fatalities only work in Dead Pool, Shaolin Trap Dungeon and Tournament.
  • You are at the wrong distance: every command must be entered from Close range, directly beside the defeated opponent.
  • You entered the command too early: wait until FINISH HIM! or FINISH HER! appears.
  • You used the wrong fighter's command: the input is specific to the character you are controlling, not the defeated opponent.
  • You reversed Forward and Back: Forward means toward the opponent and Back means away from them.
  • An Up input makes your character jump: hold Block while entering the directional part, release Block and then press the final attack button.
  • Your controls are remapped: follow the assigned Front Punch, Back Punch, Front Kick or Back Kick function rather than the default platform button.
  • You tried the Easy command without a token: Block + Back Punch consumes one Easy Fatality Token; the complete fighter-specific command is free.
  • The fighter is unavailable: the Stage Fatality update is free, but you must own a DLC character before you can play as that fighter.
  • The finishing window already closed: enter the complete sequence cleanly and without pausing between directions.

Mortal Kombat 11 Stage Fatality FAQ

How many Stage Fatality inputs are there in MK11 Ultimate?

There are 37 fighter-specific commands, one for every playable character. There are only three compatible arenas, and each arena supplies its own environmental finishing animation.

Which stages support Stage Fatalities?

Only Dead Pool, Shaolin Trap Dungeon and Tournament support Stage Fatalities in Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate.

Does the same fighter input work on all three stages?

Yes. Each fighter uses one Stage Fatality command, and that same input works on Dead Pool, Shaolin Trap Dungeon and Tournament. You do not need to learn a separate command for each arena.

Do Stage Fatalities need to be unlocked?

No. Stage Fatalities are available automatically after the free content update is installed. They do not need to be found in the Krypt, earned from Towers or equipped in a variation.

Do you need Aftermath to perform Stage Fatalities?

No. Stage Fatalities arrived alongside Aftermath on May 26, 2020, but were included in a free update for every Mortal Kombat 11 owner. You only need to own a DLC fighter if you want to use that character's command.

Can you use an Easy Fatality Token for a Stage Fatality?

Yes. From Close range on a compatible stage, hold Block and press Back Punch (2). This simplified command consumes one Easy Fatality Token; the complete fighter-specific input does not consume anything.

Can you perform a Stage Fatality after a Mercy?

Yes. A Mercy resumes the fight. Defeat the opponent again on a compatible arena, wait for the new finishing prompt and enter the Stage Fatality command from Close range.
