Use these 146 documented Nintendo Switch button combinations for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition: 76 for GTA San Andreas, 50 for GTA Vice City and 20 for GTA III. Another 45 compatibility entries preserve removed, disputed, mislabelled and version-specific listings without adding them to the main total.
Version note: This guide is only for the Nintendo Switch version of the 2021 Definitive Edition collection. It is not a substitute for the original releases or other ports, whose button labels and cheat availability can differ.
Verification status (September 2, 2026): The controller matrix was converted button by button and cross-checked against current Nintendo Switch references. It does not claim hands-on reproduction on every game build; removed and disputed effects are identified separately below.
Choose your Definitive Edition platform: Nintendo Switch (this guide) | PC | PS5 and PS4 | Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
Enter each combination during normal, unpaused gameplay. Press the buttons in order and reasonably quickly. Use the directional buttons on Joy-Con, or the D-pad on a Pro Controller, for Up, Down, Left and Right rather than either analog stick. A confirmation message usually appears when a sequence is accepted.
Save warning: Nintendo Switch has no system-level trophy or achievement system, but cheats can still interfere with missions, scripts and saved world states. Make a separate manual save before entering any code, reload that clean save after experimenting and never overwrite your only unmodified file. Rockstar warns that cheats can cause scripting errors or corrupt saved games; see Rockstar Support’s advice on saving after cheats.

Money and ammo note: Vice City has no controller cheat for money and no infinite-ammo code. Re-entering a weapon-set code supplies more ammunition for that set; it does not unlock infinite ammunition.

Shoot the Moon is not a controller cheat. Equip either of Vice City’s sniper rifles at night and fire at the moon. Each hit cycles through one of eight apparent moon sizes before the sequence repeats. This Easter egg is preserved here because it appeared in the original guide, but it is deliberately separated from the controller-code tables.
The main GTA III tables contain 20 broadly corroborated Nintendo Switch combinations. The Definitive Edition adds Big Head Mode. Flying Cars, Speed Up Clock and Increased Gore are preserved separately because current references conflict, while Invisible Cars is reported unavailable.
