Fishing is one of the most enjoyable optional activities in Red Dead Redemption 2, and anyone who enjoys this minigame should know that there are 13 Legendary Fish to catch—and they will really put your fishing skills to the test.

How to Get the Special Lures

These fish are especially large and difficult to catch, so you will need a special lure to attract them, followed by plenty of patience to reel them in. To begin your search, start the mission "A Fisher of Fish" by speaking to Jeremy Gill, who can be found fishing from a pier on the north shore of Flat Iron Lake. Once you start the mission, he will ask you to catch 13 Legendary Fish and mail them to him, which you can do from any post office. The good news is that he will also give you a map showing the location of every fish.

A Trick for Catching the Toughest Fish

Catching the Legendary Fish will test both your patience and endurance, but there is a handy trick that makes the job easier: the advanced reeling technique. When a fish tires itself out and it is time to reel in with the right stick, pull the left stick downward at the same time to raise the rod. This lets you pull the fish toward you and reel in the line much faster.
