The upcoming presentation of 'Avengers: Doomsday' at the Shanghai Expo on July 11 has just confirmed which superheroes will make up the Avengers team led by Captain America, Sam Wilson. According to the description of the Russo brothers' movie, and as reported by QuidVacuo, the main characters in the project will be "Steve Rogers, Thor, Loki, Captain America, Falcon, Ant-Man, Shang-Chi, Bucky, Yelena, John Walker and Red Guardian", creating a link between the Thunderbolts and several MCU legends.
During a previous presentation in 2025, Marvel had already teased the different superhero lineups that will appear in the Russo brothers' film. However, as the movie moves forward, we will see some teams join forces to face the great threat of Doctor Doom, played this time by Robert Downey Jr.
This means we are getting an Avengers team made up of all kinds of characters, and it looks like both the Fantastic Four — Human Torch, The Thing, Mister Fantastic and Sue Storm — as well as the X-Men — Charles Xavier, Magneto, Gambit, Cyclops, Mystique, Nightcrawler and Beast — and the Wakandans, with Black Panther and Namor, will remain outside that group.
In addition to the superheroes already confirmed, countless cameos, surprises and returns are expected. Several rumors suggest that Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Mark Ruffalo and even Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds will appear in the movie, but none of that has been confirmed. There has even been talk of Tobey Maguire taking part at the beginning of the production. Either way, we will find out for sure on December 18, when 'Avengers: Doomsday' hits theaters, with the hope of bringing MCU audiences together once again.
