Esta misma tarde, la organización de la San Diego Comic Con ha revelado el listado de los nominados a los premios Eisner, uno de los más influyentes del mundo del cómic junto a los del festival de Angouleme. Los españoles Jorge Fornés, Bruno Redondo, Miquel Muerto y Álvaro Martínez Bueno han sido nominados en varias categorías. Así, Fornés compite en mejor historia corta, con Tap, Tap, Tap. Redondo compite en las categorías a mejor número autoconclusivo, con Nightwing #87: Get Grayson; mejor serie regular, mejor dibujante y mejor portadista por Nightwing, serie que además acumula una nominación más por mejor rotulación. Mientras Álvaro Martínez sido nominado en la categoría a mejor serie nueva por The Nice House on the Lake y Miquel Muerto repite nominación con Something Is Killing the Children, la serie que realiza junto a James Tynion IV y Werther Dell’Edera para BOOM! Studios.
En la categoría de mejor colección o proyecto de archivo de tiras de prensa encontramos otra figura española, Jordi Longarón, conocido en Estados Unidos como Jorge Longarón, quien por desgracia falleció en 2019.
