La web británica Gamesindustry.biz ha compilado un listado de los juegos más vendidos en los principales mercados del mundo en los nueve primeros meses de este año 2010, de enero a septiembre, incluyendo no solo los habituales Japón, Estados Unidos y Reino Unido, sino también otros mercados europeos como España, Francia y Alemania.
Las listas reflejan, sobre todo, el liderazgo de Nintendo, cuyos New Super Mario Bros., Wii Fit y Pokémon están en las primeras posiciones de todas las listas. También muestran el fenómeno Just Dance en el Reino Unido, donde es el título más vendido de 2010, y el fuerte lanzamiento de Halo: Reach en los Estados Unidos, donde es lo más vendido del año. Otros títulos a destacar son Modern Warfare 2, pese a haber sido lanzado en 2009, Red Dead Redemption o Super Mario Galaxy 2.
En el mercado español, New Super Mario Bros. es lo más vendido del año por el momento, seguido de Wii Fit Plus y Modern Warfare 2, todos ellos títulos de 2009. Hay que esperar hasta Red Dead Redemption, cuarto, para encontrar un lanzamiento de 2010. En la lista española destacan lanzamientos del mismo mes de septiembre, FIFA 11, Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 y Formula 1 2010, que en solo unos días en el mercado ya están entre los 20 más vendidos del año.
