Enchantment Souls
Zombie
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 2.5%
Attribute: 1 Poison Resist (though the status screen disagrees with this, see below)
Description: "Gain resistance to poison."
Effect: Gives +5 poison resist for each Zombie soul collected.
Improvement: Additional +5 poison resist per soul.
Found: Chapter 1
Peeping Eye
Rarity: *****
Drop rate: 1%
Attribute: None
Description: "Identify breakable walls."
Effect: Breakable walls shine with a yellow circular glow. You can see them even with the map fully zoomed out.
Improvement: None.
Found: Chapters 1, 3, 5
Notes: You don't have to have this soul equipped to break the walls, so once you know where they all are, you don't need to equip this soul any more. Not all breakable walls have something good in them; there's one in Chapter 4 that drops a Rusty Food Tin, which damages and poisons you.
Bone Pillar
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 1.5%
Attribute: 1 CON
Description: "Increase CON."
Effect: Gives CON, which insteases your defense against physical attacks.
Improvement: Additional +1 CON per soul.
Found: Chapters 1, 2, 3
Minotaur
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 2.5%
Attribute: 1 STR
Description: "Increase STR."
Effect: Gives STR, which insteases your physical attack power.
Improvement: Additional +1 STR per soul.
Found: Chapters 1, 2, 4
Treant
Rarity: ***
Drop rate: 3.5%
Attribute: None
Description: "Increase MP recovery speed."
Effect: MP regenerates faster than normal.
Improvement: MP recovery rate increases more.
Found: Chapter 2
Ectoplasm
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 2.5%
Attribute: 1 Curse Resist (though the status screen disagrees with this, see below)
Description: "Increase resistance to curses."
Effect: Gives +5 curse resist for each Ectoplasm soul collected.
Improvement: Additional +5 curse resist per soul.
Found: Chapter 2, 4, 6
Notes: Ectoplasms are hard souls to farm, since none of them are near the single-player spawn point in any of the chapters in which they appear. Still, this is a fairly useless soul, so it's not a big deal.
Imp
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 2.5%
Attribute: 1 INT
Description: "Increase INT."
Effect: Gives INT, which increases magic attack power.
Improvement: Additional +1 INT per soul.
Found: Chapters 2, 3, 5, 6
Notes: Easiest to farm on chapter 3. Go to the top of the map by the lever that releases the hammer. Imps spawn continuously here, though you can eventually kill them all. If you still need more, drop down, go right, and then up to where the gear is. Plenty of Imps spawn here as well.
Aliorumnas
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 2.5%
Attribute: 1 MND
Description: "Increase MND."
Effect: Gives MND, which increases defense against magical attacks (but not status ailments).
Improvement: Additional +1 MND per soul.
Found: Chapters 2, 4, 5, 6
Succubus
Rarity: *****
Drop rate: 1%
Attribute: None
Description: "Absorb HP when attacking."
Effect: Gain a small amount of HP when an attack connects.
Improvement:
(1-8 souls) Gain 1 HP per attack.
(9 souls) Gain 2 HP per attack.
Found: Chapters 2, 6
Notes: This does not drain HP from the enemy on top of your attack power, and does not work when monsters are guarding. It also does not work with damage from bullet souls, guardian souls, or kicks. It works best when using a weapon that attacks quickly, even if its attack power is low, since the amount of HP healed is not proportional to the amount of damage done. Also, I've seen someone online who I believe was using a Succubus soul and healed 3 HP per attack. If you know how (higher INT?), please e-mail me.
The Creature
Rarity: *****
Drop rate: 1%
Attribute: None
Description: "Restore HP gradually."
Effect: Heals you at all times, though somewhat slowly.
Improvement: Gain HP faster.
Found: Chapter 4
Notes: Even with nine souls, the HP regen rate is a bit less than 1 per second, making this a poor choice for healing.
Mimic
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: None
Description: "Gain money when taking damage."
Effect: When hit, you drop $1 coins equal to the number of souls you have. If you're hit without being knocked back, you automatically pick them up. Otherwise, you have to go back to get them.
Improvement: Drop more coins.
Found: All chapters
Notes: These are annoying to farm, as a Mimic could be in any brown chest in Chapter 6 Normal or any chapter on Hard, but there's no way to tell in advance if one will be a Mimic or not. Since you only earn a few dollars per hit, this is about as close to completely useless as you can get.
Dead Warrior
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 2.5%
Attribute: 1 LCK
Description: "Raise LCK."
Effect: Gives LCK, which affects item and soul drop rates.
Improvement: Additional +1 LCK per soul.
Found: Chapter 5
Notes: There's a Dead Warrior right at the spawn point of Chapter 5. Kill this one, then impale yourself on the spikes (or just exit, if you don't get a soul) and repeat. It takes a while, but the additional LCK is a big help when farming for souls.
Guardian Souls
Bat
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 4 ATK
Description: "Summon a Bat as a familiar."
MP cost: 2/sec
Effect: Summons one or more bats that stay active until RB is pressed again. They auto-attack enemies by diving at them.
Improvement: Increases bat damage; summons more bats, up to a maximum of three.
Found: Chapters 1, 4
Notes: Does too low damage to be useful on hard mode.
Ghost
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 4 ATK
Description: "Summon a Ghost as a familiar."
MP cost: 2/sec
Effect: Summons one or more ghosts that stay active until RB is pressed again. They auto-attack enemies by slowly flying into them.
Improvement: Increases ghost damage; summons more ghosts, up to a maximum of three.
Found: Chapters 1, 2, 4
Notes: Does extremely low damage, even worse than the bats. Plus, they're a lot slower to attack. Can fly through walls.
Persephone
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 3 ATK
Description: "Enable 'Magic Vacuum' to consume enemy HP."
MP cost: 3/sec
Effect: Summons a vacuum that stays active until RB is pressed again. On contact with an enemy, it does damage and restores your HP by 1, or 2 with nine souls. Heals even when enemies are guarding.
Improvement: Increases vacuum damage. At nine souls, summons Persephone in addition to the vacuum and doubles HP restoration.
Found: Chapters 2, 4
Notes: Since it has such a short range, does little damage, and doesn't proc very quickly, it's not too useful. The Succubus soul is better for regen if you have a fast weapon.
White Dragon
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 6 ATK
Description: "Summon a White Dragon."
MP cost: 2/sec
Effect: A White Dragon grows out of your back that stays active until RB is pressed again. It attacks only when you attack, and has a short recharge time between attacks.
Improvement: Increases dragon's damage.
Found: Chapters 2, 3, 4
Notes: Does decent damage, but only extends your attack range slightly and attacks too slowly to be useful.
Medusa Head
Rarity: *****
Drop rate: 0.8%
Attribute: None
Description: "Gain the ability to hover in one location."
MP cost: 10/sec
Effect: When used in the air, you will hover in that spot for as long as RB is held down. No effect if used on the ground.
Improvement: None known.
Found: Chapters 5, 6
Notes: The hover effect is only particularly useful when you have a fast weapon and a boss that can only be hit in mid-air (Death, Dracula's third form). Park yourself in front of the vulnerable spot and slash away. However, it can also be used to cross large gaps by tapping RB very quickly and holding the direction you wish to go. This second usage doesn't consume very much MP. It's most useful to get by the areas with the scales in chapters 1 and 2 solo, or getting the purple chest near Death's room in chapter 5 solo. Go up on the roof and drop through the floor, then float over to the ledge with the chest. Still, you can use Yorick to do the exact same thing.
Buer
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 4 ATK
Description: "Wear a cloak of tumbling fire."
MP cost: 2/sec
Effect: Small fireballs fly around you in a circle, doing damage to whatever they hit. RB toggles the effect.
Improvement: More fireballs that do more damage. 2 more souls produce 1 more fireball, from a minimum of 2 up to 6 fireballs with 9 souls.
Found: Chapters 5, 6
Notes: Despite its appearance, this soul doesn't seem to do fire-based damage, since it does full damage to Fire Demons. Highly effective against just about any enemy if attacking at melee range, especially bosses and final guards. It doesnt use much MP either, so its great to add a little extra power to your attack. Each fireball doesn't do much damage, but with six fireballs, it really adds up. You can take out Dracula's first form while staying completely safe from his attacks if you jump kick his head repeatedly with this active, as he can't attack directly above him. This also works well to protect you from Medusa Heads, Puppet Master's dolls, and Deaths scythes, if you have seven or more souls. It won't protect you from projectiles that aren't destroyed when struck, however, such as Dullahan's Ghost Chaser.
Final Guard
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 1.5%
Attribute: None
Description: "Gain iron-clad defense."
MP cost: 20/sec
Effect: You are invulnerable for as long as RB is held down. Although a shield is displayed in front of you, rear attacks cannot harm you either. Destroys projectiles. Cannot be used in mid-air.
Improvement: None known.
Found: Chapter 6
Notes: Great for defense, but MP is drained very quickly. There seems to be no upper limit to the attack strength that can be blocked; BeaconXDR tells me that Dracula's Demonic Meggido attack can be completely blocked with it.
Brauner
Rarity: *****
Drop rate: 0.5%
Attribute:
Description: "Draw swaths in the air with cursed paint."
MP cost: 2/sec
Effect: Leaves a trail of paint behind you while active, toggled with RB.
Improvement: Increase damage.
Found: Chapter 4 boss chest
Notes: I don't have this soul. It's not from lack of trying! Thanks to BeaconXDR, neo.odin2000@gmail.com, and Krilangi for this information. Here are neo.odin's notes on usage - "It spawns Brauner's red paint behind Soma allowing you to paint a wall of blood wherever you go. I use it for traversing medusa head rooms and blocking any enemy attacks that can be canceled by damage. When activated the paint will last for about 3 seconds worth of travel."
Death
Rarity: *****
Drop rate: 0.5%
Attribute:
Description: "Summon the Grim Reaper's scythe to attack enemies."
MP cost: 3/sec
Effect: Random scythes spawn over your shoulder while active, toggled with RB.
Improvement: Increase scythe damage. Shoot more scythes.
Found: Chapter 5 boss chest
Notes: I don't have this soul either; thanks to neo.odin2000@gmail.com for this information. Here are his notes - "[The scythes] launch in a seemingly random forward angle. I've had little luck getting any scythes to hit anything and when they do it's for minimal damage. Similar to the random single scythes spawned while fighting death."
Bullet Souls
Skeleton
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 6 ATK
Description: "Throw bones."
MP cost: 12
Effect: Throws a bone that arcs above and in front of you, then falls. Can hit multiple times.
Improvement: Increases damage and bone size.
Found: Chapters 1-4
Axe Knight
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 8 ATK
Description: "Throw an axe."
MP cost: 15
Effect: Throws an axe that arcs above and in front of you, then falls. Can hit multiple times.
Improvement: Increases axe damage. Changes appearance of axe at 5 and 9 souls.
Found: Chapters 1, 4
Notes: Pretty much the same thing as the Skeleton soul. Identical to Jonathan's Axe sub-weapon.
Amalaric Sniper
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 14 ATK
Description: "Summon an archer to support you."
MP cost: 12
Effect: Summons up to three Amalaric Snipers, who shoot arrows in a straight line. Can be used in mid-air.
Improvement: Increases arrow damage. Summons more snipers, up to a maximum of three.
Found: Chapter 1
Fleaman
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 2.5%
Attribute: 4 ATK
Description: "Summon a Fleaman."
MP cost: 12
Effect: The Fleaman bounces ahead of you for a while, then disappears. Will not attempt to navigate obstacles. Damages and passes through whatever it touches. Can hit multiple times.
Improvement: Increases damage. Clothes change color from green to white with nine souls.
Found: Chapters 1-4
Merman
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 4 ATK
Description: "Shoot a stream of water."
MP cost: 15
Effect: Shoots four water blasts directly in front of you that have infinite range.
Improvement: Increases damage.
Found: Chapter 1
Notes: The range comes in handy, but the Fire Demon soul has infinite range as well and does more damage to boot.
Spittle Bone
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 5 ATK
Description: "Spew fire while spinning around."
MP cost: 12
Effect: Summons a Spittle Bone that shoots flames in a ring around you. The flames go a short distance, then disappear.
Improvement: Increases damage; flames go further.
Found: Chapters 2-5
Une
Rarity: ***
Drop rate: 4.5%
Attribute: 4 ATK
Description: "Plant Une in the ground."
MP cost: 5
Effect: Une falls to the ground, then stays there for a bit, damaging anything it touches. Can hit multiple times.
Improvement: Increases damage.
Found: Chapter 2
Notes: This tends to drop through some mid-air platforms, so don't expect it to work if you're not on solid ground.
Man-Eating Plant
Rarity: ***
Drop rate: 3.5%
Attribute: 5 ATK
Description: "Send pollen flying."
MP cost: 15
Effect: Fling pollen that flies ahead of you in a straight line. They move slowly, but have infinite range. Can be used in mid-air.
Improvement: Shoots more pollen that does more damage, up to a maximum of 8 shots.
Found: Chapter 2
Notes: Does quite a bit of damage, if you don't mind waiting until it slowly wafts over to the enemy. If you want to do lots of damage quickly, launch it at point-blank range.
Moldy Corpse
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 7 ATK
Description: "Fling poisonous spores."
MP cost: 12
Effect: Shoots a poison cloud around you. If used in mid-air, it shoots below you as well. Can cause the poison status effect in those susceptible to it.
Improvement: Increases damage. Increases cloud size (??).
Found: Chapter 2
Notes: Since I didn't try this until I had nine souls already, I don't know if the cloud gets bigger with more souls. E-mail me if you know.
Frozen Shade
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 6 ATK
Description: "Shoot pillars of ice."
MP cost: 15
Effect: Four large ice shards fly around you for a while, then hurtle forward in a straight line automatically. Can hit monsters at any time, even while circling you.
Improvement: Increases damage.
Found: Chapter 2
Notes: Identical to Charlotte's Ice Needle spell. Although the swirling icicles can protect you from projectiles, the Buer soul is a lot better for that purpose since it isn't consumed when it hits something and uses less MP.
Yorick
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 4 ATK
Description: "Kick a skull like a ball."
MP cost: 10
Effect: Throw a skull in a downward arc in front of you, which can be slide-kicked or jump-kicked. Does damage to enemies it hits. Does much more damage if jump-kicked or slide-kicked first. Can hit multiple times. Disappears after a few seconds.
Improvement: Increases damage. With 9 souls, skull size increases.
Found: Chapter 2
Notes: This soul is fairly useless as a weapon, since it's hard to hit with. It's VERY useful as a navigational tool, though. Throw it, then double-jump and jump kick on top of it. This will propel you upwards, and bounce the skull against the ground. When the skull is as high as it will go, you can jump kick it again to go even higher. It's possible to get three jump kicks off of the skull before it disappears. With 9 souls, you can get a bit more height out of it since the skull is bigger, but not much.
Glasya Labolas
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 4 ATK
Description: "Generate poisonous bubbles."
MP cost: 15
Effect: Shoots a cloud of bubbles in front of you. Each one can hit a separate target, and can poison monsters susceptible to it.
Improvement: Increases damage.
Found: Chapters 2-4
Notes: Identical to Charlotte's Acidic Bubbles spell. From what I've seen, the number of bubbles is fixed regardless of how many souls you have. The bubbles are launched slowly, not all at once. So unlike the Man-Eating Plant soul, if you fire this in mid-air, the bubbles will fall as you fall, making it harder to hit airborne targets.
Cave Troll
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 9 ATK
Description: "Attack with a tongue lashing."
MP cost: 10
Effect: Soma shoots his tongue for a fairly long distance in front of him.
Improvement: Increases tongue damage. Lengthens tongue.
Found: Chapters 3-5
Notes: Since I didn't try this soul until I had nine of them, I didnt know that the length increases with more souls. Thanks to Arka48 for contributing that information.
Witch
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 12 ATK
Description: "Manipulate magical energy and launch it at enemies."
MP cost: 12
Effect: Shoots a ball of light, which slowly tracks the nearest enemy, even through walls and ceilings. Does holy damage. Disappears after a short time or on contact.
Improvement: Increases damage.
Found: Chapter 4
Notes: Identical to Charlotte's Energy Flow spell. It's useful if you want to attack something on the other side of a wall, but otherwise isn't very good, since it can only hit once.
Fire Demon
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 16 ATK
Description: "Shoot devastating fireballs."
MP cost: 15
Effect: Shoots a large fireball in a straight line in front of you for infinite range.
Improvement: Increases damage.
Found: Chapters 3, 4
Notes: Identical to Charlotte's Flame Shot spell. Does a lot of damage, even without nine souls. Excellent for situations where extreme range is required, but can only hit once. If attacking things at closer range or with fire resistance, use the Disc Armor soul instead, as it nearly always hits twice and can pass through walls and enemies even though each hit does less than a Fire Demon hit on its own.
Lerajie
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 6 ATK
Description: "Fire magical bullets that ricochet."
MP cost: 15
Effect: Shoots a ricochet down and in front of you, which bounces off the walls. After a few seconds, it stops sparkling, after which it continues for a while but does no damage. Then it disappears completely.
Improvement: Increases damage.
Found: Chapters 4-6
Notes: Identical to Jonathan's Ricochet Rock sub-weapon.
Gurkha Master
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 9 ATK
Description: "Throw Gurkha knives."
MP cost: 15
Effect: Throws a large knife in front of you at medium range, which then returns. Can hit multiple times. Cannot penetrate objects and walls.
Improvement: Increases damage.
Found: Chapters 4, 6
Notes: The disc armor does basically the same thing, has a longer range, and can penetrate walls and objects, so I recommend that over this.
Dullahan
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 12 ATK
Description: "Unleash a vengeful spirit."
MP cost: 15
Effect: Launches a purple skull up and in front of you, which then shoots toward the nearest enemy.
Improvement: Increases damage.
Found: Chapters 4-6
Notes: Identical to Charlotte's Ghost Chaser spell. Not recommended for fast-moving targets, since it can miss. Seems to be picky about walls. If launched near a wall it can get stuck and disappear. If launched in open space, though, it can fly through a wall and hit an enemy. I've seen conflicting reports from players that it may be able to cause the curse status effect on monsters in limited situations, or in PvP, but I haven't tested it.
Harpy
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 9 ATK
Description: "Shoot razor-sharp feathers."
MP cost: 10
Effect: Shoots up to three feathers that disappear on contact with a wall or monster.
Improvement: Increases damage. Shoots more feathers, up to a maximum of three.
(1-4 souls) Shoots a feather in front of you in a straight line.
(5-8 souls) Shoots two feathers in straight lines, one angled about 30 degrees above horizontal, the other 30 degrees below.
(9 souls) Shoots three feathers in a combination of the previous two forms.
Found: Chapter 5
Notes: Fairly useless, since they do low damage and can't do multiple hits.
Skeleton Gunman
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 9 ATK
Description: "Fire bullets from your finger."
MP cost: 8
Effect: Shoots a bullet in a straight line for infinite range. Stops on contact with a wall or enemy.
Improvement: Does more damage.
Found: Chapter 5
Notes: Does a lot of damage, and has infinite range, but that's all it has going for it. To do lots of long-distance damage, use Fire Demon soul or the Silver Gun instead and dash-cancel (press X/Y, then LB, then down on the d-pad) repeatedly. Like most of Soma's bullet souls, this one has a slight delay that makes dash-cancelspamming it impossible.
Disc Armor
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 7 ATK
Description: "Hurl a sharp-edged circular blade."
MP cost: 15
Effect: Throws a bladed disc on a line out in front of you, which then returns. If it misses you on its return, it can hit behind you as well. Can hit multiple times. Passes through enemies and walls.
Improvement: Increases disc damage.
Found: Chapters 5, 6
Notes: I've found this to be one of the most valuable bullet souls. It passes through walls (though I've seen that fail on very rare occasions) and it does excellent damage. It hits each monster twice unless it's at the very end of its range. It can even hit three times on especially large monsters. It's particularly useful for attacking Dracula's third form, as it can pass through his claws and hit his heads multiple times on each deployment.
Sea Demon
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 16 ATK
Description: "Produce columns of ice."
MP cost: 12
Effect: Shoots a small ball of ice that flies at a 45 degree angle in front of you and down. When it hits the ground, it explodes into a large ice formation. Can hit multiple enemies, but only once each. Does no damage while in the air.
Improvement: Increases damage, enlarges ice formation.
Found: Chapters 2, 5, 6
Notes: Rather useless, since it only hits things on the ground or close to the ground, and even then only once.
Nova Skeleton
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 8 ATK
Description: "Fire a beam at enemies."
MP cost: 15
Effect: Shoots a beam for a short range in front of you that does holy damage. Can hit multiple enemies up to three times each. Destroys projectiles. Does not penetrate walls.
Improvement: Increases damage.
Found: Chapter 5, 6
Notes: Identical to Charlotte's Piercing Beam and Shanoa's Nitesco. Makes for decent protection from projectiles such as Death's scythes. It does a lot of damage, but can only hit three times, and even then only if you can concentrate it on the target. Sometimes it only hits twice even with perfect targeting.
Thunder Demon
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 8 ATK
Description: "Generate orbs of lightning."
MP cost: 15
Effect: Shoots a large lightning ball in front of you in a straight line, which travels a short distance before dissipating. Can hit enemies multiple times. Cannot penetrate walls.
Improvement: Increases damage.
Found: Chapter 6
Notes: Can hit the same enemy four times or more. An excellent close-range weapon.
Specter
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 11 ATK
Description: "Throw lanterns."
MP cost: 10
Effect: Throws a lantern in a downward arc. When it strikes a wall or the ground, it produces a tiny fireball, which burns anything touching it. Can hit multiple times. Does no damage while airborne.
Improvement: Increases damage.
Found: Chapter 6
Notes: It does a lot of damage and can hit up to three times, but since this is completely useless against airborne targets not in direct contact with a wall, and the fireball it produces is miniscule, there are far better bullet souls you can choose.
Malachi
Rarity: ****
Drop rate: 2.5%
Attribute: 12 ATK
Description: "Summon a dark sphere that spews magical energy."
MP cost: 20
Effect: Shoots a large dark ball in front of you in a straight line, travels a medium distance before dissipating. Accelerates a little in flight. Can hit enemies multiple times. Cannot penetrate walls.
Improvement: Increases damage.
Found: Chapters 5, 6
Notes: Identical to Charlotte's Nightmare spell. Does decent damage and mows through everything it hits, but usually hits even the largest enemies only twice before passing through. It also consumes a lot of MP and is slow. Use Disc Armor or Fire Demon instead.
Gergoth
Rarity: *****
Drop rate: 0.5%
Attribute: 7 ATK
Description: "Fire devastating laser beams."
MP cost: 50
Effect: Shoots a huge laser beam in front of you for infinite range. Passes through enemies, but not walls. Can hit up to three times. Does holy damage.
Improvement: Increases damage.
Found: Chapter 1 boss chest
Notes: This is supremely annoying to get thanks to the low drop rate, and chews up MP like nothing else. It's useful when there is a huge line of enemies in a row, such as at the beginning of chapters 3 and 4. It's not great otherwise. Unless you absolutely need the range, Nova Skeleton can also hit three times and do holy damage, so use that instead.
Puppet Master
Rarity: *****
Drop rate: 0.5%
Attribute: None
Description: "Throw a puppet and switch places with it."
MP cost: 10
Effect: Throws a puppet a in front of you and a bit upwards, which then arcs downwards. When it hits the ground, you teleport to the puppet's location and vice versa. Harmlessly flies through enemies.
Improvement: None (Others have reported that the puppet flies further, but now that I have nine souls, I've found that isn't the case.)
Found: Chapter 2 boss chest
Notes: It sounds useful, but isn't, really; the Yorick soul is a lot better at getting you in places where you shouldn't belong. If you have both Yorick and Puppet Master equipped, however, you can get a little extra height at the top of your Yorick bounces if the skull alone can't get you to the top of a high ledge. The only place where Puppet Master alone really comes in handy is in Chapter 5, for the purple chest behind the fire. You can throw the puppet through the fire to get the chest without being damaged. Still, you can use the Disc Armor there to hit you through the fire and back just as easily (and that technique works for characters other than Soma). You can also try to teleport through Final Guards with it, but I found it difficult to reliably get it all the way through without being hit at least once. Interestingly, if you manage to toss this on top of spikes, it WONT teleport you. Thanks for protecting us from ourselves, Konami.
Dracula
Rarity: *****
Drop rate: 0.5%
Attribute: 12 ATK
Description: "Launch a torrent of magical power."
MP cost: 15
Effect: Shoots a dark ball in front of you for a fairly long distance. Can be used in mid-air. Can hit multiple times. Does not penetrate walls.
Improvement: Increases damage.
Found: Chapter 6 boss chest
Notes: This is identical to Charlotte's and Alucard's Dark Inferno spell (though unlike Alucard, Soma can use it in the air). Mostly, you'll get this soul when you're farming Dracula for something else. It's not worth trying to get more of these souls just for the sake of it, since you can get others that are just as useful in much less time. If you do manage to get enough souls to do decent damage with it, it's useful on Dracula's third form, since it can pass throught his claws and hit the heads multiple times. Still, the Disc Armor soul can be used for the same thing and is much easier to get.
Ashtarte
Rarity: *****
Drop rate: 0.5%
Attribute: 9 ATK
Description: "Create a triangular field of destruction."
MP cost: 15
Effect: Shoots spinning green triangles in front of you. Damages once per triangle. Does electric damage (Ashtarte herself and Thunder Demons are immune).
Improvement: With 9 souls, shoots more triangles (three or five, depending on who you believe; I've heard both).
Found: Chapter 7 boss chest
Notes: I realize that the proper spelling of the ancient Mediterranean goddess on which this character is based is "Astarte", with no H. However, the game spells it "Ashtarte" and I'm sticking to that. This soul is similar to Charlotte's Delta Spark. Unlike her version, however, Soma can cast this in mid-air, making this a lot more useful for him. Still, be prepared to farm for a long, long time to get this. I don't have this soul, so thanks to Spiketbear and foxfanatic for this information.
Mummy
Rarity: ***
Drop rate: 3%
Attribute: 13 ATK
